Hey!

I haven't updated in a little while because of ARGDISSERTATION. But that is done now! So I bring you some 5 things memes, plus a really, really late Mission101 update.

Take a meme, if you like. I am feeling meme-ish and in a picture taking mood, and they are pretty fun ones!

5 things that have made me happy this week

1. Handing in my dissertation! YES! I WILL CAPSLOCK WITH GLEE ABOUT THIS!

Look it is a thing that is bound, like a book, with my name on it!

2. The new shoes I bought myself in celebration.

They were remarkably cheap (oh H&M, how do I love thee) and are massively comfy. Plus, you know, purple...

3. POST! THank you fabulous ladies of Spam (FLOS?). I got pretties from Kaz! And a special politics geek-y wordsearch from Colline!

Look how spifftastic it is! And what a lot of work it must have been! <3

4. Dancing every day. I love to dance, and I'm going to be in the university dance show next week, so we are practicing like crazy. Samba, salsa and reggaeton! It's so much fun, plus I get lots of endorphins without having to go to the gym or anything unpleasant like that. Or worse, jogging *shudders*

5. A copy of The Official Secrets Act Album! Finally. I am mildly obsessed with the song Hold The Line... A song that magages to be sentimental, but in a really good way? While referencing silly eighties bands? That you can dance around the room to? A total winner in my book.

Five things I would take with me in a fire.

1. My small but lovely collection of jewellry I inherited from Mum.
2. My snippet book, full of cards and tickets and souvenirs.
3. My notebooks, full of stories and journal type things.
4. Edward bear. I've had him since I was 2 weeks old.
5. My copy of The Demon's Lexicon, because its signed and kind of orreplacable. Plus I've made notes in it because I am a dork.

5 things I keep in my handbag

1. My shiny blue phone. Which is very tempremental but so pretty I forgive it.
2. My cheap Primark purse that I thought would fall apart in a month and has lasted years.
3. Notepad and pen. For to do lists and epic romances.
4. Lal's Diary. Lal's life would fall apart without it, sadly.
5. My passport. Unusual in its markings, my only proof of age and I can run off to Mali instantly should the mood take me.
Mission 101
In the last month I have

Baked a delicious malteaser cake!

Completed the crossword 2 times!

Handed in a piece of work I started more than a month before the deadline.

Read TDL! And Red Seas Under Red Skies! And The Thief! They were all absolutely brilliant, I would highly recommend them all. My books of the year so far, get out your monies if you can.

I saw The Official Secrets Act. I know, again. And The Specials! Who were surprisingly awesome.

Raised £35 for The Motor Neurone Society by dragging 4 of my friends along with me to a fundraiser quiz supper thing which was £7 each. The whole night raised over £1000, which is excellent.

Taken lots of pictures of the Isle of Man.

Watched the sun rise after staying up all night reading.

That's all folks!

Thank you! Shoes are my not-so-secret weakness. I may never take these ones off...

Edward Bear thanks you!

Aw! Does he have worn patches too? I love how everyone turns out to have stuffed animals somewhere. What is this growing up of which you speak?

Congratulations on your dissertation! And yes, H&M is the BEST.

Man, I am hitting the bookstores in a month and a half, THANK YOU FOR THOSE RECS, BY THE WAY.

Thanks! I am very relieved.

My H&M addiction got pretty bad at one stage, I had days where literally everything I wore came from there...

RSURS is the sequel to 'The Lies Of Locke Lamora', which I think you would really like. The first one is all cool thievery in a city based on Venice (many Italian names and references!) with a gang called The Gentlemen Bastards, whose motto is "Here's to us, richer and cleverer than anyone else!" and the second one has PIRATES. And there are awesome ladies and cats and plot twists aplenty.

xx

Oh fabulous. Well, by the looks of it, my greatest concern in preparing for Australia the five days that I am back will NOT, in fact, be memorizing about thirty pieces of music in that time period, but making sure I do not try to shove too many of these exciting and irresistible new books in my carry on. Somehow, I feel the music will be so much easier.

After all, you know me and PIRATES.

Books are always my priority but I have been told that I maybe shouldn't be used as a yardstick for normality in this instance...

THe pirate book and its prequel are SO good, but really kind of massive. But The Thief is practically tiny, and The Demon's Lexicon (sexy dancing and SWORDS and My Giant Literary Crush aka Alan)

Which is really all I want to spend the rest of my life doing.

If I didn't have to do things in daylight hours, I totally would... It was all kinds of surreal and excellent!

RE: STUFFED ANIMALS OF CHILDHOOD YEARS-- I USED TO HAVE A MONCHICHI. TWO IN FACT. I have no idea where they are now :((
I do have the gold bracelet I got as a 'Whee you are now born and may walk this earth' present that has my name on it though. Ma gave it to me the day I graduated high school, all 'now you can ostentatiously wear gold on a daily basis'. It's kind of like my very own pimped up version of an ID tag, I guess?? XDD

And the purple shoes were H&M??? And they are comfortable?? H&M SHOES?? Holy crap dude, way to rock my previously sound assumption that H&M shoes are to be treatedly warily as they always seem v. suspicious in the Viennese stores, at least.

YOUR PASSPORT IS AWESOME LOOKING, I LOVE THE GINORMOUS EMBLEM/LOGO/CORRECT WORD FOR WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY. Mine is all faded and has a dorktacular pic of me inside ffffff I need it to be 2014 already so I can get a new one :(

What is a monchichi?!

I KNOW RIGHT? I was like, well, it's not like they are going to fit nicely or anything because H&M shoes never do wait a second oh my god they are the comfiest shoes EVER. It's weird. They come in black too, I am very seriously considering getting a pair.

My passport picture is also very dorktacular. My poor 16 year of self looks like she has just been hit over the head with something.

And it is the Crest! There is a lion and a unicorn! And it says all sorts of pompous stuff inside.

Photobucket THIS is a Monchichi! Just some cutesy monkey thing, I had a boy one and a girl one (the only difference being that girl!Monchichi had a pink ribbon on her head lol)

Will wonders never cease! Heh, I doubt H&M'd have my size (ginormous feet ugh), but dude you should totally get that second pair!!

CREST! DURRRRRRRR SELF DURRR *headslap* We Austrians have our Hawk-eagle thing that doesn't look like the German one at all, noooooo >_>;; Also it is printed so small, boo.

I don't wish to insult tiny!Kaz, but that monkey thing slightly scares me... *shudders*

Ahahaha the TIGHT FOCUS of the pic on his blank monkey eyes is kind of creepy, right?? Ahahahaha I didn't really see this before XDD (for some reason I am immune to being creeped out by animal toys, but HUMAN-SHAPED DOLLS ON THE OTHER HAND kasjhfkj ahhh)

CAPSLOCKY CONGRATULATIONS ON FINISHING DISSERTATION! ISN'T IT A GREAT FEELING? ;)

High five re: dancing! I'm going to kick myself and be in the show next time my group dances (in June, I think?), because really, fun! endorphins! occasion to dress up! xD
But I have a silly question: how reggaeton looks? Is it what I suspect it is? xD

Doesn't everybody have a stuffed animal since birth? With worn patches, and replaced button eyes, and (in case of my dear) remodelled head?

H&M shoes are comfortable?? Not only cute?

What is TDL?

Taking happiness meme, btw. :)

MANY THANKS! It was mostly having a bound thing that was exciting. And the thought that I would never again have to read articles about scatalogical cartoon *shudders*

What kind of dancing do you do? It's the dress rehearsal today so I get to wear my three costumes. My samba top is uber sparkly!

Reggaeton is kind of brazilian street/funk dance. I REALLY didn't think I would enjoy it at all, but I kind of do. It's really not like me, so it's kind of fun to be all bootilicious for a bit...

I think so. Edward also has burn marks on his paws where I left him to dry on a heater for too long :(.

It was a shock to me too but yes. Very!

The Demon's Lexicon, the book which I won and which you can see displayed in all its purple glory. Best book I've read in a while.

YAY! Spread the happiness!

(hmm, I need to make myself a dancing icon!)

Don't tell anybody, but I still (after 4 years...) have my masters thesis bound and bookified on the shelf. It's huge! It's an almost real book! :D
Scatological cartoons? I don't want to know, do I?

Belly dance. I know, it's all fashionable now and stuff, but it's really funny besides. We dance mainly the more playful things (like Egyptian disco! with imaginary potential husbands watching;)), some tribal, some drum solo, and now we're learning veils. I have a great instructor, who managed to overcome my terror of showing how bad I really am. :)
And yes, we wear lots of sparklies too. :)
Good luck on your rehearsal!

Aww, poor Edward! Heh, Bartek traumatized me once loosing his head, literally. The thread must have been too old, it snapped, and his poor head just rolled under the bed, sprinkling the stuffing on everything...

Ha!

Oh dear, I'm silly. But oh, how purple it is! :D

Why ever not? It is your book!

Oh, French Revolutionary cartoons were massively weird and often gross.

There is belly dancing in the show I'm in at the moment and it look really fun. Sounds great! It's really so good to have a nice instructor, mine is lovely, she says things like "everything is meant to wobble!"
The dress rehearsal was not great, but that makes a good show, apparently...

Oh god *checks Edward's head*. How terrible.

MMmmmm, Malteser cake? You made it? That makes me exceedingly happy! Was it worth it? Is it something I should attempt? lol

Awww, I love your bear <3 And I'm glad you liked the crossword! I started making you one first by drawing it and it had french words on it and SRB things but then I was like 'well I should make one for EVERYONE' so you got a fancy computerized one, aha :)
