Please, have a cake.

I'm [livejournal.com profile] laliandra , mostly shortened to Lal. I'm prone to rambling, spontaneous singing, sarcasm and absent-mindedness. I wish I could carry the whole of XKCD round with me to sum up my life. I would kind of like to be a con woman or a Blue Peter presenter when I grow up.

I have a livejournal account that I live at, a Twitter account (now locked but feel free to add me) that I mostly use to flail at people and an AO3 account that I love.

I write fanfiction and my Master List is under the cut. I feel so accomplished, you have no idea. This is literally the most organised thing in my entire life.

Um, my feeling about friending is, essentially, YAY FRIENDS \o/

Please, do friend me, and then leave me a comment so I know who you are and so we can get to know each other. This is the place to ask any questions that you might have or say hi or point out any terrible typos or bad Americanisms or general fails I have made in my fics. Seriously, it takes a village, you're welcome to join mine.

MASTER LIST! )

More About The Author :D

Due a nomadic childhood I have a weird nowhere accent that confuses people. Once upon a time I was a student of French and History and I still love to talk languages (moods! Loan words! translation loss!) and how the people of the past are not the Other but just us, then. I recommend books both personally and professionally and inhabit a tiny London flat with my tiny girlfriend and a large stuffed octopus.
[livejournal.com profile] bookdeyada_club[livejournal.com profile] marmalade_fish

I love a lot of fandoms and a lot of things that I am not actively fanish about but would love to ramble and squee with you about!

So, yes, anything you want to know, just ask! Here are some suggestions which I have shamelessly stolen from other posts. Top Fives! Random Facts about one of my Fics (like DVD extras only ramblier)! The Inside The Actor's Studio Quiz! Or anything you like.
laliandra: (blackdeyada)
Oh man, I am so tired at the moment, and my best girl from school is here, and so I'm totally relying on Past!Lal having achieved things to put any substance at all into this post.

Luckily Past!Lal hasn't been too bad. At least she took some pictures to pretty up the place. And my friends continue to have opinions worth chronicling. Which is handy.

So! I went down to my boyfriend's parents house for a massive family party. After much preparation (during which Nat and I had the most middle-class argument ever. It was about bunting.) many friends of the family and neighbours and extended family descended on the house.

Every second conversation I had, summed up.

Me: Yes, I'm Nat's girlfriend.

Party Guest: OH! When are you getting married.

Me: *thinks* fuck RIGHT off I am TWENTY FOUR YEARS OLD.

Me: *actually says* You should ask (boyfriend's older brother) and (girlfriend)! *forced laugh*

I also met a girl who sat down by me and declared "I love this cake. I would marry this cake. I would make love to this cake." So apparently my willingness to discuss frosting sex is something even strangers can sense. Pictures! Party balloons, party tent, party dress and shoes.

Me: *posts (different) picture of self in dress to Twitter*
Twitter: CONGRATS ON THE BOOBS!
Me: *is very unsurprised*
Then on the following Monday I met my wonderful marmfish loves [livejournal.com profile] hanelissar, [livejournal.com profile] playwithfyr, [livejournal.com profile] hanelissarand [livejournal.com profile] altogetherisifor a day of geeky frolics in London Town. We had the best time. We went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at the IMAX in exciting 3D, picnicked outside of Foyles and left TDL bookmarks about the place.

And then we went to see the preview screening of Let's Kill Hitler! SO MUCH EXCITEMENT, OMG.I managed to take one, very faily picture on my phone but oh, wow, you guys, I was SO CLOSE to the front it was AMAZING.

You can read my recounting of this marvellous event at my tumblr. And if you want to talk about the episode, I can finally do that! YESSS. Not spoiling people has been really hard.

Still very conflicted about Steven Moffat. For those of you playing along at home!

The very next day, having got the bus back from London, which takes 6 hours and meant I fell into bed at 6am, I had a [livejournal.com profile] hanelissar to stay. She was good to me in my times of sleep deprivation, and we only wept on each other about our Big Bangs a very little bit. A forest for my pines etcetc. Also there was baking, as per. We made all manner of chocolate chip cookies. Pony cookies! Ship cookies!

For his birthday Nat got tickets to Sunday at Leeds Festival, hurrah. It. Was. Awesome. I mean, it was cold. But awesome. I got to see the National live, which I've wanted to do for an age, and I got to see my best friend Lil be in charge of lighting a whole stage, and go stand with her in the technical area which makes you feel all fancy. She is a fabulous lady doing fabulous things in a completely male dominated industry and I couldn't be prouder.

And at the end of the night we saw Pulp and it was the perfect festival experience, thousands upon thousands of people dancing and singing and yelling lyrics into the night.

LEEDS! MUD! SUNSETS! MUSIC!

In the morning I discovered that I'd sent Moog an email at 2am. I do not remember typing this email, but my inbox suggests otherwise. In it, among other, crazier things (and by that I mean all caps versions of the ridiculous AUs that we are not writing, oh no, that would be ridiculous, what, why are you looking at us like that), I continued a conversation that had started a week or so ago on Twitter.
[livejournal.com profile] playwithfyr
laliandra: (lipbite)
It’s probably a sign of how poor I am at actual blogging that I am taking it as a great victory to be writing about something that only a happened a week ago. A mere seven days! \o/!

So yes, a week ago I went with [livejournal.com profile] altogetherisi to see Darren Criss play a solo concert at the Garage in Islington. I’m still not exactly sure how Isi got the tickets but I’m pretty sure that actual magic was involved.

Anyway, due to times and price and other fun stuff, I had to get a bus that left at 6.45 in the morning to get me into London at a decent hour. Which meant that there would be plenty of time for hanging out and scoping the area beforehand. We met at Victoria and got on the tube, merrily debating what we should do when we arrived at the venue four and a half hours before the gig was due to start. It turned out that what we would be doing was QUEUEING. By the time we arrived there was already queue the length of the building.

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE FANGIRLS.

Which meant that we had to stand in line for four with nothing to do but talk to each other and admire other people’s starkid shirts and glasses. Luckily talking for hours on end has never an issue for us.

Lal: *details all the big bangs she knows about* TLDR they are all going to be amazing.
Isi: And the Wardolope one! Cutest ever!
Lal: I also have info about that one! I am just a endless font of random TSNBB knowledge.
Lal: Also did I mention that my two artists are [livejournal.com profile] novembersmith and [livejournal.com profile] alexthegreat ?
Isi: Oh my god.
Lal: Right?
Isi: OH MY GOD
Lal: RIGHT?!
Isi: How on earth did you manage that?
Lal: I have no idea.
*ten minutes of squee later*
Lal: But seriously I am very excited about art claims.
Isi: Really...

extra, extra, read all about it )

So, yes, it was a wonderful gig that I got to go to with a friend that I love to see a musician that I love. It was seeing a fanboy made good. It was totally worth the sunburn that yes, I did end up getting, which is extremely ironic in the light of my [livejournal.com profile] pod_together  story (which will be up on Friday! And features the mild objectification of one Blaine Anderson!) I am still slightly heart eyed, starry eyed, shock-wide eyed about the whole experience and plan to relive through photos and videos many times over.

In another, slightly related point of interest, I got a tumblr. Because I needed to waste more time, obviously. Tell me who I should be following, ie which of YOU I can stalk on yet another social networking platform. I am probably going to be linking from here to there but not the other way round, if you see what I mean. I blame Kara. Also I like to tag.

Hello and welcome to the SPAU special bonus features!

First, art! I started writing this story a very long time ago, as evidenced by the fact that this was my Christmas present from [livejournal.com profile] brimtoast in 2009. It was a commission by [livejournal.com profile] celestialsoda (who seems sadly to have disappeared) of the opening scene and I love it beyond the telling of it. My reaction was the shriek MY BOYS over and over again. It's sort of giant, fyi.

Giant Picture Behind Cut! )

I also have a playlist of sorts. I mean, I’ve been writing this for so long that I have burned through a lot of songs, whole albums in fact. But these are my best of the bunch (with apologies to [livejournal.com profile] altogetherisi because I realised after I’d made her a playlist that there were quite a few SPAU songs on it and thanks to [livejournal.com profile] miabee023  for sending me awesome mixtapes that make me seem way cooler than I am) and I hope you like them. All of the artists are amazing, you should buy all of their albums :D

Download You Can’t Divide The Sky

You can also find this story at the AO3 or you can download the amazing, totally gorgeous .pdf version that [livejournal.com profile] shiningartifact made. It is so pretty! #fontlove

Um, yes, and if there’s anything anyone wants to know, feel free to ask here. I feel like something of a narcissist but people said they had questions and I will happily talk about this ‘verse for all of time.
laliandra: (sprinkles)
I know I only posted yesterday but I hear that leaving it weeks between LJ posts is not actually mandatory. Who knew?!

I, er, have been tempted into doing this.

THE YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL MEME

Things are, well, I'm not going to sob story or guilt you into saying something there, but Not Great pretty much sums it up. My thread lives HERE. This is a first for anything like this for me!

I've been listening in an usually obsessive way to a bunch of fanmixes and mixtapes (I say mixtapes, they're mostly CDs or downloaded folders because this is the modern way) recently, and I've been thinking about how much I love mixes. Music is such a big part of everything I do and am, plus I live with a music obsessive. You know, the type who owns a record player *g*. So, I thought I'd offer mixes. Do you want me to make you a mix? Any kind of theme you like, any stupid thing, happy songs or songs for summer or songs with sad lyrics and happy melodies or ANY OLD THING. We have a lot of music in this house. You can tell me the kind of music you do/don't like if you want or live dangerous. I like to share *busts those only child stereotypes*

Just leave a request in comments!

And finally! I went to see Attack The Block today and it was awesome! I am not sure how to describe it - apart from chavs versus aliens which is sort of accurate but sort of not - but it was a really great movie, funny and sharp and just the right side of scary. Which for me is "sometimes suspenseful but mostly not too traumatic". I am bad with horror movies. Anyway, I think you should all go see it because it's a strangely beautiful film, for all that it's set on a council estate in Shouth London, and has a weirdly positive message. Plus it was written and directed by a guy called Joe Cornish who is one of those fanboy-made-it-big types. He's one of us!

Recently several very different people have expressed Great Shock and something close to outrage at the fact that I do not have a twitter account.

Technically I do. I just wanted to make sure no one stole my name, and then ignored it.

SO. People of the internet. What is so good about this fancy 140 character phenomenon? Alternatively, is there any evidence that twitter is, in fact, the devil (oh [livejournal.com profile] ontd_ai , will I never tire of your in-jokes)?

I am ready to be swayed either way!

PS. Has anyone else noticed that the chorus of this

which is the theme from Andrew Lloyd Webber's catastrophe new musical Love Never Dies

is EXACTLY the as the chorus to this -

from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical The Beautiful Game.

I am annoyed and wish to share this with the internet.

Man, maybe I should get twitter.
laliandra: (cakey thoughts)
So!

I am 23.

It feels much as 22, only less symmetrical. I had a wonderful birthday yesterday, thank you so, so much for all the messages etc of good wishes and sprinkles and all that. I felt quite overwhelmed with love. You are all darlings of the highest order, and I feel very special having y'all as my flist. All other flists pale into insignificance.

Anyway, I had a lovely day. I went to a very excellent all day music festival on Sunday, so got up late and got cards and lovely things from the internet like virtual mix CDs and flower picspams.  There was some mooching, also some faffing, and making people do my bidding (MUHAHAHA). Plus phone calls from awesome people, and cards with umbrellas on them.

Then Nat took me out for a swanky meal, and I had a very large black forest gateau with cherry ice cream.

But, it turns out that my birthday is a Magic Day! So many random good things happened! I did not know I had such power. So, here are five very cool things that we can all enjoy together, in light of 5th April being lucky with extra luck sprinkles.

1. One of the bands that I saw on Sunday were Hope and Social. Check Them Out! They were amazing. They have a brass section. And they played this one song that I just fell in love with.

Red, Red Rose by Hope and Social. When they play it live, they do call and response with "Blue Skies..." and it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

2. So, I had this conversation with Nat during my birthday meal.

Nat: I don't really have a present for you. I don't know what you want! But. You know I was trying to get a ticket for the first day of Leeds?

Me: No? You were?

Nat: What? Because, you do know who is playing there on the Friday?

Me: No? Who?

Nat: You do know that the Libertines are reforming for Leeds Festival?

Me: NO. What? OMG, what? *nearly falls off chair*

Nat: But... How did? You live in the internet, how did you not know this? Anyway, would you like a ticket as your present?

Me: *looks around* This restaurant is such a bad place for an attack of flailing.

SO YES. Did you know this? The Libs. They broke my heart last time, they had better stay friends forever this time round. I am putting my faith in you, Pete Doherty, do not let me down. If you haven't heard of them, you should definitely get on board, they were, are, a great British band. And they will always be extra special to me because both my boyfriend and my best friend adored them for years, and then I got to introduce my campfire ladies to them. I think I was slightly dazed at poor Nat for a while because, surreal! So, yes. The LIBS.

3. My dearest [livejournal.com profile] mcollinknight is doing a LADIES ARE AWESOME post. You should all go play. It's a great idea and also a tiny bit for my birthday, so I feel like I can invite y'all to her place. Just be good, don't break anything, be nice about Canada.  We need more pictures and so on of awesome ladies being awesome!

4. Because pictures of cats are always amazing. This is Alfie, the unsubtle cat that I mentioned in my last post. He is ridiculous and likes to clomp around my Granny's house muttering to himself. He has tiger paws and the brain of a kitten...

5. My Dad got me a Good Deal of Amazon vouchers for my birthday. Which means that I will be set up to buy a book for [livejournal.com profile] bookdeyada for a good few months to come. And also that if anyone would really love to join but doesn't think that they can afford to buy a copy of this month's (really excellent) book, The Hunger Games, well, I could probably  gift you one. Because it's A FANDOM BOOKCLUB AND I WANT EVERYONE TO JOIN AND HAVE FUN TOO! Ahem. Sorry, I am still really excited about it...[livejournal.com profile] bookdeyada !

There we are! 5 awesome things for the 6th. A catrillion hearts to you all.
laliandra: (Default)

So it turns out Finals are hard. Who knew?

I think all my fevered brain can cope with is a music meme!

1. Reply to this post and I'll assign you a letter.
2. List (and upload) 5 songs that begin with that letter.
3. Post them to your journal with these instructions.

The lovely [info]scrtkpr gave me the letter 'I'. I've realised I pick songs because either they remind me of good times, plus they produce a really good scene for a movie in my head. I'm not alone right, other people make stories for songs, right? Right?!

1. I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You by Black Kids - This was a song that I danced to like an idiot in dingy indie clubs, yelling out the numbers with Lil. Plus the lyrics are sneakysmart and I love the cute synthy bass line. (in this scene our hero watches the girl of his dreams and knows she would be happier with him. Oh unrequited love.)

2. It Hurts to See You Dance So Well by The Pipettes - Hee! I just realised what a pair of songs these are. But anyway, I want to be a Pipette! They are all 60's girlband harmonies with funnier, feminist lyrics and they wear a lot of polka dots. (Girl realises that funny friend she always went dancing with was the one for her, but now he's moved on?)

3. Is It Any Wonder by The Shortwave Set - Not Keane. Though that is a good song too. I just really like this, all rains of piano and timpani thunder, with a dreamy vocal. I think I love this song because it creates more of an abstract mood, all pensive and sweet. And it reminds me of First Year of uni, all NBNW-ish cold rooms with thin walls and strange and strangely fun housemates.

4. In The City by The Jam - I was brought up on The Jam, my Dad is a huge fan. The Venn Diagram of my parents' musical tastes had a very small intersect, so I got a varied musical education, to put it mildly. And I like the spikiness of this. (OK, so clearly this is a stop motion type montage of friends going round a city centre, looking at the sights and messing around and generally laughing at each other.)

5. I See You, You See Me - I usually hate so much pure emotion in a song, but this so, so lovely. I think because it is fragile somehow, and kind of dark in places, and all at sea about love and yet saying that is okay. It's someone who doesn't really understand or usually believe in love, falling hopelessly. (this one has such a clear story. Really. I think that's probably why I am so fond of it. Shall we say it wraps up our dancing duo's story?)

Ok, so I'm only supposed to do five. But I have a shortlist of 21! So I'm adding a few bonuses

It's Not The End Of The World by Super Furry Animals - I have a bit of an on-off thing with the Super Furrys. I tend to forget about them and then have a song come on and go "wait! I love this song! Why don't I listen to them more?" I think this is actually a good example of all the things I like about them, gorgeous arrangements with sweeping strings and unashamed brass and random glingly things. And the fact that you can hear the Welsh accent so strongly. Lovely. (To me, this is a packing up and moving on kind of a song. Our heroine is sad to leave this room, this life behind, but she knows that she has to start a new chapter and move on. So she puts the last thing in the box and smiles.)

I Like You So Much Better When You're Naked by Ida Maria - This is a song of summer memories. It was just everywhere last year, in between my travels and watching festivals on the television in our new house in Leeds, sitting on the back step reading or watching the Olympics. It was a good summer. And the song is funny and cute and come on, that is a brilliant chorus. And Ida Maria is mad and unusual and I really like her voice. (Bad, bad friends with benefits, awkward knocking into things undressing and laughter filled flirting, all cut together)

I Only Want To Be With You by Dusty Springfield - Mum's music taste this time, and one of my all time great loves, Dusty Springfield is completely marvellous and I kind of worship her. Anyway, this is so sweet and happy! Which is a nice note to end on.

Hope alls well with all y'all! Want to play along?

laliandra: (evita!)
[Error: unknown template qotd]I know this is late but I went to watch The Official Secrets Act play instead of posting this. I feel it was a fair trade off!

So I have made a few new friends (if by 'made' you mean 'was friended by because I am a terrible wuss and fail at friending', and I do), so I thought this would be an opportune moment to fill you all in, and sneak in some extra stuff for those already in the know. Also, to me this seems like a question that could mean two things.

HI! Lets get to know each other better!

I go by the name of Lal round here, and sometimes IRL too. (Hi people-who-already-knew-that. I can't think of anything extra to put here, apart from that sometimes I am also the Maven of Cupcakes, which was news to me too!)

I study French and History -more on that here- at the University of Leeds. I should really be doing scary Final Year work instead of doing this. (and I am drowning in books and post-it notes.)

I live in a house at the end of a terrace with 3 other girls, Belle, Wren and Sal. They are charming and fabulous and put up with my absent-mindedness with great forebearance. (Also, sometimes we all sit around the table with tea and biscuits and talk about Narnia for hours on end.)

I have some too good to be true friends, but mostly they are a bit odd. I have a boyfriend called Nat, who has a grown up job and who lives to mock me. I have a slightly crazy family (you know, the type who people meet and go "Ah, I see, this explains a lot"), who are mostly in the Isle of Man or South Africa. Which are 2 of the places I grew up. (my crazyawesome Granny sent me a book about emoticons and an Aero bar today)

In regards to this journal, I have a Mission101, which I try and update every month, and I like to talk about books, languages, random things that happen to me, music and anything that takes my fancy. My most used tag is crazy conversations. I don't update everyday, but often. I often make bad jokes and literary references. Sometimes there are pictures of cake. (I think I am quite good at commenting and the like, no?)

Recently I won an Advanced Reader's Copy of Sarah Rees Brennan's- [livejournal.com profile] sarahtales - book. I love her blog and her writing and fangirl her madly. (And it came today!!!! With a really sweet message! I am throughly gripped and delighted already.) So you'd need to know that I will probably mention her too.

My fandoms are wide and varied, I write fanfiction occasionally, and I run a Sekrit Book Club, but mostly I lurk in corners and am generally delighted by people's creativity, involvement, silliness, insight and ability to bring the lulz. (that means you guys!)

If there's anything you would like to know, feel free to ask. Suggestions here.

The question is weird though, because to me it initially sounded like, if someone you already knew read this journal, what would they need to know?

Well, they would need to know that I have probably given them a pseudonym. That I love my lj, but no, I don't tell RL friends about it. This is mostly because it contains Things That I Have Written, which I neurotically cannot show to people face to face. I wouldn't have to tell them that I am weird, because that, they already know...

The line between RL and online stuff is a strange one, essentially. I might need to think more and post more later. What do you think? I would write more but I need to finish my ARC!
laliandra: (music <3)
Requests at the end, first, DELIGHT!

I am delighted, yet again, because my tee shirt came! You can buy them at Shop Marmalade!  It's much greener than it looks in the picture. It's uber soft as well, you know how tees shirts get after you've had them a little while, only this came like that.

Here is a picture of me being a total poser in it.
Je suis poseur )

And also what I believe they call 'The Money Shot'
isn't the lettering the CUTEST?! )

I have also found out that you can preorder my friends' band's album from Amazon! I find this remarkably exciting. They are unfairly talented and charming boys, who always have something smart to say. For example, regarding So Tomorrow, one of my favourites, they say

The song was written for a friend of ours who was so anxious about his future and his decisions that he couldn’t move forward at all. OSA have on occasions found themselves equally bewildered by the choices that they see before them. We live in a dual world where every small personal decision we make might have enormous consequences; eg. when OSA buy a cheap pair of trainers are we saving money so we can pay our rent, or are we supporting the abuse of a 14 year old in a sweat shop in the Phillipines? AAAAAAAAAAAAAggggggggggggg
ghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

So Tomorrow asks how much time we can afford to spend feeling guilty, and whether it might not be better to go out, take up cigarettes and stop waiting for life to miraculously become easy.

And to all of those of you who are anxious about the future, just remember: It’s not happened yet!

So, in the sprit of the thing, I have started to apply for a Masters in Applied Translation. ARG. Terrified!

Anyway, I am very happy but utterly museless. I really want to write, but I can't think of what. So, I'm taking request. Anything you've ever wanted to ask me about? Go for it. Want me to write you some fic? Just just tell me what. Specific as you like, in fact, go super specific, I need help and inspiration! I'll blog/write/well thats all I can do because I fail at drawing whatever you like.

HAVE AT IT!

I'm feeling all bouncy and happy and shiny at the moment, not least because

I WON A COMPETITION FOR A COPY OF SARAH REES BRENNAN'S BOOK! WITH MY SLOGANING SKILLZ!

Look!

And so soon I will have an ARC and a tee shirt and I'm feeling all loved up for some RL reasons which I won't bore you with because I sicken even myself, and because I've been writing lots of romantic scenes, some with kissing in the rain and so I bring you love songs!

Now, there are a LOT of love songs about, and many of them are awful. Or sugary. Or obvious. I am a picky person and I like my romance understated and/or different. Or just plain gorgeous. So, here are some songs I love, click them, take them, as a token of my esteem!

1. Made-Up Lovesong #43 by Guillemots - Really cute, not too overdone, and about making the ordinary extraordinary, which is what love is, really.

2. I hear a symphony by The Supremes - I love The Supremes to death, and I love the idea of hearing music in your head when you see that certain someone.

3. Maybe I'm Amazed by Jem - Its simple and lovely and I feel like that girl so often, completely overwhelmed and delighted by love.

4. Friday I'm in Love by The Cure - You just cannot not be happy when you listen to this. Dance around the room!

5. I love You by The Pipettes - short and sweet, but very realistic.

6. For Once in my Life by Stevie Wonder - What's not to love? Great song, great singer, great big smiles all round.

7. Lottery Winners on Acid by The Crimea - Super quirky and adorable with twinkly guitars and bells and the best metaphor ever. Love makes you crazy.

8. L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole - Almost the ultimate. I don't want love like you see in the movies, I want love from a Big Band song...

9. For Lovers by Wolfman featuring Pete Doherty - I don't really know why I love this. I think its because it mentions trains, which I find inexplicably romantic.

10. Young Love by The Mystery Jets - I am so in love with the Mystery Jets it hurts.

Maybe next I will do favourite romantic scenes, or Great Kisses, or something... What say you, lovely flist?

So, tell me your favourite Love Songs. Or romantic scene. Something to make us all smile!

Oh, and the thing I said about my friends. I take it back. It has become apparent that I am the only sane one amongst them.  On facebook we have an attempt by Lil to organise a get-together at hers -

Lil: we dont have house mates so its all cool, plus theres a very big field at the back so Dan can run around naked in if he so wishes(i have heard he likes too do this?)

Mal: 10/10 would read again

Lil: ???

Mal: Indeed. Although i may be tram driving with Newbie so sooner in june is better for me.
       Onward - to Victory

Dan: I like the sound of naked frolicking in your field

Raff:  im not sure i may be washing my hair on that day!!! but will check

Lil: We have two showers you can wash you hair here doofus

Rhys: Yeah but when Raff showers he often just wanders around naked afterwards, so unless you want to have a naked Dan and a naked raff (which will of course create the phenomenon known only as the naked Mal, often followed by the naked raffdanmal wrestling match) then its probably best to let raff shower at home....

Lal : Well there's a mental picture I didn't need

Dan: need no, want yes.

ETA: Newbie: can we make bets?
