You guys bring out the sap in me
Jan. 6th, 2009 02:05 pmYesterday was a Long Day. It took me 11 hours to get from homehome to Leedshome. It wasn't all bad, we bought and ate a lot of cake, the drive was very picturesque due to the large amounts of snow, and the boat crossing was improved by my crashing of my friend's family's cabin, but I also had to get up unspeakably early, had an unpleasant cold and this leaving of homehome house was the last leaving of homehome house, because at the end of the month my Dad is moving out. So I was feeling tired and a little sad when i got home, only to find my darling housemates waiting with tea and tissues. And that while I had been away Post had come. My cards! Its still technically Christmas!
mcollinknight, thank you so much for your lovely letter. And the quotes! And the lollipop! I may have to import them wholesale. It made me feel very CHEERY. And your skillz at writing letters to people you haven't actually met dazzle me.
And thank you
luchalibrarian for the lovely card, and the kind words! It sparkles!
Lastly but by no means leastly, thank you
frantic_mice for the Harry-Potter-as-the-Little-Prince card. Your artistic talents astound and amaze me. It sparkles! <3 ma cherie
In short, you are all lovely ladies and stars in the internet firmament. ILU!

Date: 2009-01-06 05:47 pm (UTC)I find memories of old homes generally much nicer than actual homes (if I'm making any sense) - it's like the move is a trigger to all that good memories that can be now stored under the label of "that house I lived in when I was six and was friends with a snail from our garden", or "that house I didn't really like, but which seen me fall in love for the first time", and fondly reviewed from time to time without the fuzziness of everyday life.
Yes, shutting up now:D

Date: 2009-01-07 11:14 am (UTC)You make perfect sense. Lots of good stuff happened in that house, and now I just get to remember that without the bad memories too, or the bother of having to clean it or anything. Its not like I really live there anymore, and it was like our 11th house.
There is a children's book called Sophie's Snail which is about a girl who makes a snail her pet, I loved it to pieces!
As you can see, I have a very understanding policy about rambling here. Feel free...
