Currently, I spend a deal of time sitting on trains marvelling at the weather and so, as I told twitter, I want to write all the sunshine filled stories in the world. Colline instructed me to write and I can't really say no to her charming Canadian vowels. Plus fandom has been extra good to me of late, and I want to repay. 

It is very likely that I am mad. But I am feeling full of two things that have been sadly lacking in recent months, summery feelings and also writerly mojo. 

Sol! PROMPT ME.

I am going to play a game that I am calling (500) Words of Summer. You guys, I thought of a cool name for it, I cannot back out now. 

This will involve you giving me a prompt and then I will write 500ish words (more likely more because I fail so hard at brevity) for it, probably involving summer days and rays and other things that are fading fast. 

Lurkers and new people and old, dear friends alike, I want your prompts! Er, now may be a good time to remind me if I owe you fic. 

You can ask me to expand on a universe I've already written (From NorthbyNorthwestern to Say I'm the Only Bee In Your Bonnet and everything in between!), or something new in a fandom I've written for or, well, I know a LOT of fandoms. Just ask...

OMG. Ok. Frank/Gerard steampunk. It can be a drabble, or a glimpse of a story, as opposed to trying to do a "fic" in 500 words. Bonus points for a steampunky explanation of Frank's tattoos. Bonus points for IC Mikey (if you can work it in. 500 words isn't much, so don't sacrifice good f/g for forcing Mikey in there). Scenario? Something is going wrong and they think they are about to die. Gerard finally gets the full story behind those markings on Frank's arms and face that Frank is always hiding (though he can't ever rly hide the ones on his face--we are pretending for your fic that the line eye makeup he likes to wear is a permanent marking). Intimacy ensues. You can make it srius bizness or cracky. Your choice. Pls oh pls!?!?

I STILL WOULD LIKE TIFFANY ACHING FIC. Especially with the new book coming out so soon and all. Mostly just her and Roland being AWESOME, though I know that is not a very specific prompt, because THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE ALL THE TIME, but you can include sheep or something, I don't know. (Also, William de Worde and Sacharissa, maybe... trying to put together a newspaper (as per usual), only Ankh-Morpork is being its usual summer-heat-wave self, and it's gross and sticky but they are them and therefore it is SO CUTE. Or something else, whatevs.)

Those are my requests, but, as you know, I will read pretty much anything you post.

OH I HATE THE UK. SO MUCH. Ours does not come out till the 28th, WHAT IS THIS. I am tempted to just order it from amazon.co.uk, since it will actually be pretty much the same price as buying it here. But then I would not have matching sizes. On the other hand, none of my Tiffany Aching books match to start with, so... perhaps this is not such a big deal. SUCH A CONUNDRUM.

I totally think of that anytime somebody makes a pun, but I never say it, because nobody else I know has read the Tiffany Aching books. So, obviously, your dad is awesome.

Okay, the shipping is just ridiculous, so this is not happening. SHIPPING, WHY MUST YOU ALWAYS FOIL ME SO.

Well, just think - if you ever publish a book, you know you will sell at least one copy. I'm sure that will convince any publishing house to take you on.
