I HAVE INTERNET AGAIN.

We have broadband and cable TV and a landline and I installed them all myself.

AND I HAVE INTERNET FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A MONTH.

YAY!

I have been dogsitting and having earthquakes (little ones). My ancient laptop still does not do chat very well, but my DESKTOP IS WORKING AGAIN. Thanks to my brother-in-law, who YANKED OUT, BLEW ON, AND PLUGGED BACK IN TWO CABLES. *loses geek card for a year*

Arg, that is always so annoying. My laptop is also killed by chat, but now I have other computers to steal. I mean, borrow. So fingers crossed. Did you never own any Nintendo? That's how you always fixed them ;) But someone else doing the same thing you've been trying works an up setting amount of the time. That happened to me every time I couldn#t work brimtoast's macbook, I would pass it to her and and she would do exactly the same thing and BING, working.

We decided it just didn't like me. It could smell the PC taint on me!

Totally not connected, just Random Important Stuff in the Life.

I never had a TV or a Nintendo growing up! I opened up the case and used canned air to blow away the general dust, but I didn't think to re-seat the cables, nor that the actual connection in the cables might be dusty.

I abhor the computer techs who look at you like you're crazy/completely incompetent when you say that IT WAS TOTALLY DOING THAT BEFORE, WHY IS IT NOT NOW, and/or I DID JUST THE SAME THING, WHY DID IT NOT WORK, because that happens too, too often; they're hardly competent themselves if they fail to recognize this. *used to work tech support*
