Your work situation sounds quite similar to my living situation. Now that I HAVE fandom friends (I only delurked on LJ this summer! and have only just met RL fandom people at my school this fall!) the lack of things in common with the people I live with is even more pronounced, you know? WHY IS THE INTERNET NOT A PLACE, is what I ask myself often.
I think breaking your power cord dancing to MCR is the BEST way to break things.
AND YAY MJ YAAAAAAY. I can't get over how cool it is that you're coming to America for it. Our room will be GREAT (once I get over thanking you guys endlessly for letting me crash it). ♥!
