I am really both overjoyed and mildly perplexed by Mean Girls macros. Obviously, they are hilarious and make me very happy - but I just always wonder how Mean Girls became the go-to macro for pretty much everything. I guess it's just insanely quotable? I don't know.

Oh yes, I remember reading some fic where they described Tom Hardy's accent as cockney and I just went, "...what? I don't remember that. MAYBE I NEED TO SEE IT YET AGAIN." Oh well.

I KNOW. Except, you know, a shot straight at the chest is generally bad news. So I'm definitely more concerned than I might usually be over the apparent death of a main character.

Oh god Merlin IT WAS SO GOOD. I had to spend two hours downloading an avi after waiting for ages for working streaming videos to come up, but OH WAS IT WORTH IT. Everything was just so ridiculous! And wonderful! Except bits were actually quite terrifying, to the point that I shoved my chair back from my computer yelling, OH JESUS CHRIST. Yet again, I seriously question the BBC's categorization of this as a "family show."

How can your boyfriend hate Scott Pilgrim?! It's just so unique and adorable and total eye candy when it comes to colors. I find this perplexing.

Hmm, I will take that into great consideration. (Especially since I would actually like to do some traveling, and I'd rather it not be a huge hassle.)

So, in England I'm looking at:

- University of Essex (it's nicely sort-of-near London)
- University of Leeds (because you have raved so much about it - though its size is rather daunting to me, as my university here has 2,600 people attending it, as compared to 33,000)
- University of Sussex (it's near Brighton? and they have both English and music programs, I think, which is what I'm looking for)
- Queen Mary in London (apparently this one has more of a sciences focus, though, so I'm not too sold on it, though it might be nice to be in central London and all)

In Ireland:

- University College Cork (they have lots of music, apparently, which is always nice)

In Scotland:

- University of Stirling (basically, it's the cheapest - but they don't have any big music or English emphases, so that's a bit of a negative)
- University of Edinburgh (its main plus (so far as I can tell) is that it's in a major city)
- University of St. Andrews (it's apparently well-regarded for its humanities program, so that's quite good)

I also looked at Wales, but the University of Bangor tried to convince me to come by saying, "14% of the student body speaks Welsh as their first language. A challenging language to learn, you can enroll in classes in beginning Welsh, enhancing your study abroad time in Wales and winning you many friends among the local population." While this is very endearing... I don't think I'm all that convinced.

So, any advice you could give me would unbelievably valuable - especially since it's not like I can visit these schools myself without paying an awful lot in airfare.
