Technomancy

Recently several very different people have expressed Great Shock and something close to outrage at the fact that I do not have a twitter account.

Technically I do. I just wanted to make sure no one stole my name, and then ignored it.

SO. People of the internet. What is so good about this fancy 140 character phenomenon? Alternatively, is there any evidence that twitter is, in fact, the devil (oh [livejournal.com profile] ontd_ai , will I never tire of your in-jokes)?

I am ready to be swayed either way!

PS. Has anyone else noticed that the chorus of this

which is the theme from Andrew Lloyd Webber's catastrophe new musical Love Never Dies

is EXACTLY the as the chorus to this -

from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical The Beautiful Game.

I am annoyed and wish to share this with the internet.

Man, maybe I should get twitter.

I think the internet purely exists so that we can share our rants with a wider, captive audience *g*

I have not, it hasn't actually opened in England yet, and I don't plan to. It sounds awful. Really bad! And I say this as someone inclined to love ALW. But yes, some of the reviews have been hilariously mean. And justifiably so. It annoys me that the leading lady from it has been everywhere singing that damn song lately.

Heh, I shall see. Maybe I will just get a "Lal complains" accounts, in which I update with things like, "Still no couscous at the supermarket!" "Man patronised me in Game (computer shop) AGAIN" "Just dropped foundation powder all over the floor after vacuuming"

Ah, I kind of forgot that "out there, I read about it on the internet" is not a real place where all my internet friends live... :) Heh, I wouldn't want to see it either, especially when inclined to love ALW. Some things are better unseen, for the peace of mind...

I guess my lj account should be called "complains and pictures"...
Sorry about the computer shop patronising (ugh, don't we all know it) and other downfalls, though. Foundation powder, ouch.

Ps. Having non-ad-free account sometimes proves fun; for all the complaining I got "The most controversial prophesies: World's Last Chance (in dramatic font that changes halfway through from sans serif to serif, wtf)--Prepare to Meet Your God!". I like how they are non-specific about what god they mean. For each each own, I guess. Better publicity that way. :)

I love that idea, that we all just live in one big country called Onlinia. That would be amazing. Yes, I think it is safer all round to avoid the fail :)

But they are lovely pictures and valid complaints! It's all good. Yes, the patronising thing will one day cause me to go on some sort of murderous rampage. Although when it is me and some guy friends and I start talking all knowledgeably I tend to draw a small crowd of intrigued teenage staff members.

That is amazing!
