Technomancy
Recently several very different people have expressed Great Shock and something close to outrage at the fact that I do not have a twitter account.
Technically I do. I just wanted to make sure no one stole my name, and then ignored it.
SO. People of the internet. What is so good about this fancy 140 character phenomenon? Alternatively, is there any evidence that twitter is, in fact, the devil (oh
ontd_ai , will I never tire of your in-jokes)?
I am ready to be swayed either way!
PS. Has anyone else noticed that the chorus of this
which is the theme from Andrew Lloyd Webber'scatastrophe new musical Love Never Dies
is EXACTLY the as the chorus to this -
from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical The Beautiful Game.
I am annoyed and wish to share this with the internet.
Man, maybe I should get twitter.

Isn't it a reason for the internet being born, anyway? :)
Have you seen Love Never Dies, by the way? I just amused myself with reading various scathing reviews...
Personally, I feel I'm too old to have a twitter account. Too hard to keep track of my complains, I need them all in one place. xD

I have not, it hasn't actually opened in England yet, and I don't plan to. It sounds awful. Really bad! And I say this as someone inclined to love ALW. But yes, some of the reviews have been hilariously mean. And justifiably so. It annoys me that the leading lady from it has been everywhere singing that damn song lately.
Heh, I shall see. Maybe I will just get a "Lal complains" accounts, in which I update with things like, "Still no couscous at the supermarket!" "Man patronised me in Game (computer shop) AGAIN" "Just dropped foundation powder all over the floor after vacuuming"

Also sometimes what one had for lunch, and whether or not one has a sore throat, because this can be useful later.
I import mine (as you doubtless have seen) with a cut because I care. This is because I abhor the thought of my historical going undocumented.

I have a Twitter mostly because it is the only way I ever know what one of my friends is doing (he's useless at email, texting, calling and Facebook but updates his Twitter like a crazy addicted person) and it's quite nice to know what's going on with other people. But I don't update it myself very often at all - I check it about once or twice a day but have gone through months without ever 'tweeting'.
So I totally understand your not having got an account!
LOVE!

Ah, I kind of forgot that "out there, I read about it on the internet" is not a real place where all my internet friends live... :) Heh, I wouldn't want to see it either, especially when inclined to love ALW. Some things are better unseen, for the peace of mind...
I guess my lj account should be called "complains and pictures"...
Sorry about the computer shop patronising (ugh, don't we all know it) and other downfalls, though. Foundation powder, ouch.
Ps. Having non-ad-free account sometimes proves fun; for all the complaining I got "The most controversial prophesies: World's Last Chance (in dramatic font that changes halfway through from sans serif to serif, wtf)--Prepare to Meet Your God!". I like how they are non-specific about what god they mean. For each each own, I guess. Better publicity that way. :)

I know that like me, you are a fan of procrastination, and mild stalking, and twitter enables these hobbies like nothing else. It's brilliant! I use mine mainly to... well, to bitch and moan about things recently, but whatever. At least it means I don't update my facebook status nearly so much. Plus, twitter is excellent for breaking news or for passing round links to others internet things.
So yeah. Go, Twitter!

Argument in favour of twitter: the possibility of stalking Johnny Weir! :D

Twitter is great! :D And since I haven't done that in a long time, I'm randomly blaming you. For anything you like.

I LIKE
YOU MAKE ME ADDICTED TO THINGS. (I DON'T BLAME YOU FOR BRADAM THO.)

But they are lovely pictures and valid complaints! It's all good. Yes, the patronising thing will one day cause me to go on some sort of murderous rampage. Although when it is me and some guy friends and I start talking all knowledgeably I tend to draw a small crowd of intrigued teenage staff members.
That is amazing!

This seems fair. I worry that I really do not need another way to fail at keeping in touch. But it seems so fun!

That is seriously one of the best arguments for twitter that I have ever heard. Really.
And I do like links to things. Hmmm.
Also HI JOHNNY HI, my glittery darling.

Also, Jim Cantiello is an excellent argument in favour of twitter.

I will accept this blame, random though it is.

I want Danielle to win now I think. Lauren would be okay I guess, I just really, really don't want Sophie to win. I've been rooting for her to be out since about the second show.
It can be quite fun! Let me know if you do decide to get one and I'll add you! :P

YOU SHOULD ASK HER IF SHE COULD PUT PICTURES OF LIKE, ADAM LAMBERT AND WHATEVER ELSE I HAVE DRAGGED YOU INTO IN THE ICON. *g*
I WILL GLADLY ACCEPT BLAME FOR BRADAM, THE SPARKLY DELIGHT THAT IS IT :D:D:D

I loved Steph! I just odn't think she was right for the part. But OMG, those results shows are evil. The lsing girl cries and then they sing that song and everyone cries and they hug and then she floats off on the moon and the rest all stand there trying not to cry and willing her to do well and ACH. *wells up*
YAY DANIELLE! Sophie was good this week, though. But it's a little late in the day to be turning a corner, IMO.
I shall be keeping y'all informed :D

They are so evil aren't they?! There was a letter in the Radio Times about how evil they are...I do quite love the flying moon though. I like to think that makes being kicked out okay - you're not going to be Dorothy, but hey, you get to fly off-stage sitting on a giant moon!
:D We shall root for Danielle together then! Woo yay go Danielle! *waves banners*

Oh, I totally forgot this over declaring my love for twitter: I always thought Love Never Dies was no good. And this video makes me sad, because I liked Sierra Boggess in The Little Mermaid (not that I saw much of it), and now I cannot bring myself to thinking she's awesome anymore!
Only listening to previous ALW musicals can cure this!
